God's Good Plan
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."    (Romans 8:28)
Dearly beloved, our faith is more precious than gold. But we see that it must be tested by fire. Devout Job says: “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold” (Job 23:10).

Yes! When we pass through the path of tribulation, we cry out: “Where is God? Why did He allow me to pass through these tests and trials? Why my marriage is not yet settled? Why did I fail in my examination? Why didn’t I get the subject of my choice? Why do I suffer from disease and dire poverty?” But even in the midst of such agony, the Holy Spirit and the Almighty God are with us.

The Bible answers, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

A young woman who had the anointment of the Holy Spirit, loved the Lord very much. She wrote her I year B. Sc examination. But alas! She failed in two papers! Her heart was broken. “Why did God allow this? Why did I fail? Is God alive?” With these questions in mind, she became disheartened and decided not to read the Bible any more or pray any longer.

One day, while her parents were listening to a ‘Jesus Calls’ radio programme, she was sitting outside. The message given by my father directly touched her heart. At the time of prayer he said: “Young woman! You are discouraged by your failure. Turn to Lord Jesus today. He will help you.” These words pierced her heart like a spear.

“How did he know about me?” she asked and ran to the radio set. She knelt down and prayed with tears: “God! Forgive me. How can we deny You and live in this world? Give me Your grace.” Once again, the presence of the Holy Spirit filled her. God blessed her. She qualified for her degree and began to live happily.

Friends! In the midst of failures and disappointments, the Holy Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children” (Romans 8:16). He keeps telling us: “God will never forsake you. Do not leave Him. Cling to Him firmly. He will help you.” Yes, the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness so that we may not lose God’s presence. God is watching us (Psalm 11:4; 34:15). Why does He watch us? It is to perfect that which concerns us (Psalm 138:8). The Holy Spirit will never allow us to be disheartened in the midst of tribulations. He will take care of our future. He will be with us and prosper our lives. Let not our hearts be troubled.

Loving Lord Jesus,

You have plans to prosper me. I call upon You for your divine assistance. Strengthen me with your divine presence. Comfort me through your divine love. Help me to remain steadfast in my faith. Deliver me from my hardships. Turn my failures into success. Perfect that which concerns me. May your name be honoured.

In Your matchless name I pray.
